field_block:node:page:body
You can donate to the state Nongame Wildlife Fund through the checkoff box on Form M1, Individual Income Tax, or Form M1PR, Homestead Credit Refund (for Homeowners) and Renter's Property Tax Refund.
What is the Nongame Wildlife Fund?
The Nongame Wildlife Fund supports activities such as habitat protection, conservation research, and coordinating volunteers. Checkoff donations account for more than 80 percent of the funding for nongame wildlife programs run by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
How do I donate?
You may donate to the Nongame Wildlife Fund through either of the following ways:
- Enter your donation amount on the appropriate line – next to the loon symbol – on Form M1 or Form M1PR.
- Make a direct donation. For more information, see Donating to Nongame Wildlife on the DNR website.
Your donation is tax deductible.
Note: The amount you donate on your Minnesota return will lower your refund or raise the amount you owe.
