Homestead Files - Property Tax Refund and Duplicate

field_block:node:page:body

The Property Tax Refund (PTR) Homestead data file is based on the previous year’s assessment data and includes the current and prior payable year’s tax statement data. It is used to determine eligibility for the PTR and is compared to information provided by taxpayers on the PTR forms. The PTR data file must include all homestead parcels located in the county.

Update: For the real-personal (RP) PTR data files:

  • Be sure to include updated homesteader data for all assessment year 2022 mid-year homesteads.
  • For homestead parcels that changed ownership in 2022, provide homesteader data from the most recently approved homestead application submitted by December 31, 2022.
  • If a parcel was classified as homestead for taxes payable in 2023, but the new owner(s) did not apply for homestead in 2022, provide the homesteader data for the most recent homesteaders of assessment year 2022.

The Duplicate Homestead data file should reflect ownership as of the January 2 assessment date, or January 2, 2023. It does not include any mid-year homesteads granted for that assessment year.

Files will not be accepted prior to March 1. Data file submission dates:

  • The Property Tax Refund (PTR) data file is due April 30
  • The Duplicate Homestead data file is due July 31

To submit or test your homestead data files, go to the Virtual Room.
