Ethics for Minnesota Assessors

All licensed Minnesota assessors must complete a Department of Revenue ethics course during each four-year licensing cycle. The course focuses on ethics, professional conduct, and the need for standardized assessment practices.

Note: The current licensing cycle runs July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2028. Ethics for Minnesota Assessors is currently being updated and will be available early 2025.

Access the Course [+]

Ethics is a self-paced online course that all licensed assessors must complete by June 30, 2028.

Before taking the course, you must create a learner profile. To create a learner profile, you need a unique access link provided by the property tax outreach team. The link was emailed to all licensed assessors on February 1, 2023. If you need a copy of the access link, contact the property tax outreach team.

Log in to the learning management system.
The course is in the featured course section of the dashboard.

When preparing to take the course, keep in mind:

The course takes about 60 to 70 minutes to complete.
The system will save your progress if you need to finish at a later time.
The User Guide can help you navigate the learning management system.
When complete, you will receive one continuing education hour.
Your completion certificate will be in the transcript section of the dashboard.
- You do not need to do anything with the certificate. It is for your records.
