Your contributions qualify if you made them to eligible state candidates or political parties on any of these dates:
- January 1 - December 31, 2024
Candidates must sign the public subsidy agreement before you make a refund claim. If you make your claim before the candidate has signed the agreement, the Minnesota Department of Revenue will deny your claim.
Note: You are allowed only one claim per year whether we approve or deny your claim. If we deny your claim, you may appeal our decision within 60 days. Do not submit a new receipt for a denied claim.
The refund for 2024 is the amount of your contributions up to $75 for individuals or $150 for married couples (if you file a joint Political Contribution Refund application).
You can apply for a refund any time after making your contributions but no later than these deadlines:
- For 2024 contributions, you must apply by April 15, 2025
For contributions made in 2024, complete 2024 Form PCR, Political Contribution Refund Application.
Send your completed form to us. You must also include copies of the receipts you received for contributions claimed on your application. We can only accept Form EP-3 receipts that you received from a qualified candidate or political party as proof of your contributions.
