Cancel a Payment

If you made a payment while logged in to e-Services, you have until 5 p.m. Central Time on the day the payment is to be processed to cancel it in e-Services.  

To cancel:

1. Log in to e-Services with the account you used to make the payment.
2. Select I Want To...
3. Select Search for a request link on the History card.
4. Select the payment you would like to cancel from the list.
5. Select Cancel Payment. If Cancel Payment is not available, select Cancel.

Note: If you made a payment with a return, selecting Cancel may cancel the return and payment.

If you scheduled a payment using Online Services without logging into an account, you have until 5 p.m. Central Time on the day the payment is to be processed to cancel it.

Note: This only applies to bank account payments. You cannot cancel credit or debit card payments.

You should have received an email with a confirmation number. You can use the confirmation number and the email address to cancel it:

1. Go to Online Services.
2. Select Search for a confirmation number.
3. Enter your confirmation number and email address used to submit the payment.
4. Select Search.
5. Select Cancel to cancel the payment.

You may have to repeat these steps if you scheduled multiple payments. 

If you scheduled a payment on your Minnesota Individual Income Tax return, please contact us to cancel your payment before the scheduled date.
