Sales and Use Tax Payments

field_block:node:page:body

You can make payments for sales and use taxes online, from your bank account, or in person. For instructions on how to make each type of payment, see Make a Payment. To pay online, log in to e-Services

Note: Many businesses are required to pay taxes electronically. These businesses may receive a penalty if they pay by cash, check, or money order.

If you receive a bill from the Minnesota Department of Revenue and cannot pay in full, you may request an installment plan. See Payment Agreements

Paying a Sales and Use Tax Audit Assessment

If you receive a tax order from the Minnesota Department of Revenue, you must pay the full amount due within 60 days or you may owe additional penalties and interest. You can pay a tax order by either method:

  • Online: Log in to e-Services (opens in new window). Select Make a Payment in the Sales & Use Tax panel. Select Audit Payment as the payment type and select the ending date of the audit period. For example, if the audit period is 07/01/2022 – 09/30/2025, select 30-Sep-2025 as the period.
  • Mail: Make your check payable to Minnesota Revenue and write your Minnesota Tax ID Number on memo line of your check. Include your check and the payment voucher from the tax order (Notice of Change in Sales and Use Tax). Address the envelope as directed on the payment voucher.
