Statistics About Our Work

At the Minnesota Department of Revenue, we strive to administer the state tax system with fairness and efficiency — while providing excellent service to taxpayers, businesses, tax professionals, and others who rely on us. 

Each year, we serve more than 3 million Minnesotans and 500,000 businesses that pay taxes or do business in our state. 

We process tax returns, payments — and issue refunds. We answer questions and provide other help by phone, email, and in-person. We engage with taxpayers and other customers through in-person and virtual classes, conferences, and community events.
