Cigarette Tax Rates for 2026

​The following tax rates apply to cigarette sales on or after January 1, 2026:

• Cigarette Sales Tax: 84.0 cents per pack of 20 cigarettes. For packages with a different quantity, you must adjust the tax proportionally. (Minnesota Statute 297F.25.)
• Excise Tax: 152 mills, or 15.2 cents, on each cigarette. (M.S. 297F.05.)
