Justin Nieman, Assistant Commissioner

Justin Nieman serves as assistant commissioner at the Minnesota Department of Revenue. He oversees business income taxes — including Corporate Franchise, S Corporation, Partnership, Estate, and Fiduciary taxes — and Tax Operations. 

Nieman joined Revenue in 2004, serving as an auditor and supervisor in the Corporate Franchise Tax Division where he oversaw an auditing unit and the department’s integrated tax management system. In 2013, Nieman became Revenue’s first tax analytics manager, overseeing the department's data analytics portfolio to assist leadership in decision-making. He was named assistant director of corporate franchise tax in 2015, moving to the director role in 2018. 

He has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Winona State University.
