Vikki Getchell, Assistant Commissioner

Vikki Getchell serves as assistant commissioner at the Minnesota Department of Revenue. She oversees Human Resources, Employee Development Services, and Diversity and Inclusion. 

Vikki was previously the director for equity systems change at the Science Museum of Minnesota. In that role, she worked to provide vision, strategic direction, and leadership for several key museum programs to support the museum’s mission and values while promoting equity and access through social and STEM justice models. Vikki also led the Warner Nature Center as director where she worked to build lasting relationships between people and the natural world. 

Vikki has extensive experience in state government management including the implementation of equal opportunity, affirmative action, and diversity and inclusion programs. She has worked for the Minnesota National Guard, the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and the Minnesota Department of Health.   

Before joining state government, Vikki served in the U.S. Air Force and was a commercial pilot. She has a J.D. degree, with an emphasis on disability law and alternative dispute resolution, from Hamline University Law School.
