Closing an Account or Business

You can close a tax account if you no longer need to file and pay that particular tax. When you close your business, you will also close all of your tax accounts.

You must still file any outstanding business tax returns. You can still access information in e-Services for the dates your accounts and business were open.

How do I close a tax account?  

To close a tax account through e-Services, you must be an e-Services Master for the business.

  1. Log in to e-Services
  2. Select the tax account you want to close
  3. Select the Account Information tab
  4. Select Close Account
  5. Complete the remaining steps as directed

Note: You should close tax accounts at the end of your filing cycles (annually, quarterly, or monthly).

How do I close a business?

  2. Select the Taxpayer Information tab
  3. Select Close Business
  4. Complete the remaining steps as directed
