Other Resources for TRA Customers

While there are some issues that fall outside of the TRA Office's authority, there are resources available through the Minnesota Department of Revenue or other state agencies that may be helpful. 

Minnesota Department of Revenue

• Support and Resources for Families: The Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families website maintains these resources.
• Minnesota Child Support Online: Resources and contact information, including the child support hotline.
• Minnesota Attorney General’s Office: Resources related to tax scams, identity theft and protection, and consumer complaints.
• Minnesota Courts – Self Help Center: Information on how to represent yourself in court, including divorce.
• Minnesota State Law Library: Offers a variety of services including clinics for people seeking to understand their legal situation and those representing themselves in court.
• Minnesota Judicial Branch Self-Help Centers: Information and resources for people who are not represented by an attorney, with a variety of in-person and online sites.

Other Resources

• Free Tax Preparation Sites | Minnesota Department of Revenue: A directory of free tax preparation sites through Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) or AARP Tax-Aide. These programs help prepare federal and state income tax and property tax refund returns.
• Low Income Taxpayer Clinics (LITC) - Taxpayer Advocate Service: Low Income Taxpayer Clinics (LITCs) assist low-income individuals who have a tax dispute with the IRS.
