Licensing and the Collection Process

field_block:node:page:body

Under state law, we may revoke or deny your business or professional license if you owe $500 or more in taxes or other debt.

After you pay your debt, we’ll allow the licensing authority to reissue the revoked license.

Minnesota Statutes 270C.72 and M.S. 16D.08 explain how unpaid taxes or other debts can affect your license.

We cannot revoke your license if you:

  • Have a pending court case contesting the validity of the debt
  • Can appeal the debt
  • Have a current payment agreement with us
  • Are in bankruptcy

Special Cases

These are specific actions we or a licensing authority may take based on your trade, business, or profession.
