All county treasurers should use the following forms, instructions, and materials to prepare property tax statements for taxes payable in 2018.

Due Dates

If your county mails its real and personal property tax statements: then:
on or before the March 31, 2018 deadline
  • the due dates on the back of the tax statement and payment stubs apply
after March 31, but on or before April 26, 2018
  • the first taxes due date is May 15, 2018
  • the first tax penalty date is May 16, 2018
on or after April 27, 2018
  • the first taxes due date is 20 days after the property tax statement is postmarked
  • the first tax penalty date is 21 days after the property tax statement is postmarked  AND
  • you must include a flyer notifying taxpayers of the extended dates

Draft and Taxpayer Copies Submitted to the Department of Revenue

Send a draft of your county's proposed property tax statement to the Property Tax Division for approval before you send it to the printer. 

After the statements are mailed, send a copy of one taxpayer’s actual statement along with the date the statements for real property were mailed to the email address below:
