> Return to Licensing

You need an Accredited Minnesota Assessor license if you hold a contract with a city or township that requires AMA as shown on the Jurisdictional License Level List.

  • AMA Requirements - Education and assessment experience requirements to obtain the Accredited Minnesota Assessor license are listed on the AMA Requirements document.
  • AMA Application - Once all of the required courses are completed, the Accredited Minnesota Assessor application needs to be completed and sent the board for approval. (Application document contains fillable fields. Complete online, print and mail).

Accredited Minnesota Assessors (AMA) may perform all duties required in the classification and appraisal of real and personal property for property tax purposes.

One of the final requirements to become an Accredited Minnesota Assessor is the oral Interview with the board.  To arrange your oral interview with the board send an email to assessors.board@state.mn.us and request that your oral interview be scheduled for the next available board meeting
