"Demand to Pay" Language Definition

The specific language we must use to provide you due process.

Examples of due process language include:

  • Pay the amount due in full within 30 days of the letter date to avoid enforced collection actions.
  • We may take enforced collection action without further notice.  We may:
    • levy (take funds from) your bank account
    • seize (take) your property and sell it to pay your debt
    • revoke or deny renewal of your business or professional license
    • offset (take) any vendor payment owed to you by a state agency
  • We may file a state tax lien at any time.​
