Once you receive a final audit report and tax order from the Minnesota Department of Revenue, you must pay the full amount due within 60 days or we’ll charge additional penalties and interest. If you’re unable to pay the full balance due, you can contact our Collections Division to request a payment agreement.
You can pay an audit assessment online, by check or by phone, as outlined below. Before you begin, you must have your Minnesota tax ID number and the ending date of the audit period. To pay:
- Online: Log in to e-Services. For step-by-step instructions, click “FAQ” on the e-Services login page.)
- By check: You must write your Minnesota tax ID number on the check and include the payment stub that came with our tax order, Notice of Change in Sales and Use Tax ). Make your check payable to Minnesota Revenue and mail as directed on the payment stub.
- By phone: Call 1-800-570-3329 and follow the prompts. When prompted for “Payment Type”, press 3 to indicate you’re making an audit payment. For step-by-step instructions, see Pay Sales and Use Tax by Phone.
