Continuing Professional Education

The Minnesota Department of Revenue is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints about registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.nasbaregistry.org.

We offer several Sales and Use Tax classes each year at various locations in Minnesota. We also offer joint classes with some of our neighboring states in a bordering city.

  • We currently offer basic and overview-level courses in the Taxes - Technical NASBA field of study.

  • None of the courses require preparation or prerequisites.

  • Our in-person classes use the “group live” instructional method and include a PowerPoint presentation.

  • Each class accommodates 20 to 50 students. We may cancel the class if there are not enough registered participants; if that happens, we will email you five (5) days before the class.

  • If you’re requesting CPE credit for a course, complete a Certificate of Attendance Request form at the end of class and return it to the instructor.

  • Our in-person classes are eligible for up to 4 CPE credits, depending on the length of the class.
