Keep all internal and external records that supports the amounts reported on your MinnesotaCare Tax return. Examples include:
- Bank Statements
- Explanation of benefits (EOB's) for Medicare, Other Government, and FEHBA/TRICARE
- 1099's for Medicare, Other Government, and FEHBA/TRICARE
- Detailed records of non-patient receipts (rent, refunds, dividends, etc.)
- Audited or compiled financial statements
- Legend drug invoices
- All other summary and detail reports, schedules, ledgers, and journals
The Department of Revenue may deny exemptions if any of your documentation is incomplete or missing. Keep the records for at least 3 1/2 years after the due date of the original return or the date the original return was filed.
