Firefighter Relief Surcharge Law Changes

A recent law change affects the surcharge filing for all insurers who write or are authorized to write fire, lightning, or sprinkler leakage insurance. This change is effective starting with the November 1, 2017 through May 31, 2018 reporting period (due June 30, 2018).

Reporting Requirements

Under the new law, you need to submit a Firefighter Relief Surcharge Return (Form IG257) only twice each year instead of three times as in the past. See table below for details.
