Closing an account or closing a business

​Closing an account  

You can close a tax account if you no longer need to file and pay that particular tax. You are still required to file any outstanding returns. Even though your account is closed, you can continue to access information in e-Services for the dates your account was open.

To close an account through e-Services, go to the Account Information tab and click Close Account. Complete the remaining steps as directed. You can also contact our Business Registration Services at 651-282-5225 or 1-800-657-3605 (toll-free).

 

Closing a business 

When you close a business, you need to close each of your separate tax accounts. You are still required to file any outstanding returns. Even though your accounts are closed, you can continue to access information in e-Services for the dates your accounts were open.

To close your accounts through e-Services, go to the Account Information tab and click Close Account. Complete the remaining steps as directed. Repeat these steps until all accounts are closed. You can also contact our Business Registration Services at 651-282-5225 or 1-800-657-3605 (toll-free).

Note: If your business closed more than one year ago, please contact Business Registration Services.
