Pretax Premiums and 2018 Property Tax Refund
Our instructions for the 2018 Property Tax Refund listed "pretax medical and dental premiums" as an example of nontaxable income. These premiums should not be reported as nontaxable income.
-
If you did not file for a 2018 refund because you included these premiums as income, you may now be eligible for a refund. You can file for a refund until August 15, 2020. Use 2018 Form M1PR, Homestead Credit Refund (for Homeowners) and Renter's Property Tax Refund.
-
If you already filed for a 2018 refund and reported these premiums as income, you should have received a letter from us explaining how we corrected the error and adjusted your return.
If you have questions, contact your tax preparer or call the department at 651-556-3017 or 1-833-263-8663 (toll-free).
