About This Page

You can file an administrative appeal with the department or appeal directly to Minnesota Tax Court.

An administrative appeal is an independent review of your case.  A department appeals officer reviews the information used in the audit.  Once the appeals officer reaches a decision, they issue a “Notice of Determination” to inform you of the results.

If you disagree with this decision, you can appeal to Minnesota Tax Court. Your appeal must be postmarked or received by Minnesota Tax Court within 63 days from the date the order was mailed to you. If the order was delivered to you in-person, by fax, or electronically, you have 60 days from the Notice Date of the order to appeal.
