The state auditor certifies to the commissioner of revenue by August 1 those counties and cities that are participating in the standard measures program.
The Department of Revenue will notify each county and city that it is exempt from levy limits by August 10, if levy limits are in effect. (Currently, levy limits are NOT in effect.)
The aid is paid to participating counties and cities on December 26 of the same year it is certified.
