    ​To determine the amount on Form 1099-G, we compare the sum of your withholding and estimated payments to the amount of your refund.

    If the sum of your withholding and estimated payments is: Then your Form 1099-G equals:​
    Greater than or equal to your refund ​The refund amount on your return.
    ​Less than your refund ​The sum of your withholding and estimated payments on your return. We will send you a Form 1099-MISC*, Miscellaneous Income, for the difference between your refund and the amount on Form 1099-G.

    *The IRS requires that we issue a 1099-MISC to each person we paid at least $600.
