- Mines ore, or
- Produces such metals in Minnesota, such as taconite, semi-taconite and iron ore; and direct reduced iron (DRI); or
- Produces non-iron metals in Minnesota.

How do I correct an error on my return once I have filed?Back to top
Complete Form M30. Make sure to check the appropriate box indicating that you are filing an amended return. If the IRS makes any changes to your federal income tax, you have to report them to us in an amended return within 180 days. If you don't agree with the changes, send us a letter explaining why. If you don't report the federal changes in time, we'll charge you a penalty of 10% of any additional tax you owe us.

What if I can't file my return on time?Back to top
You have an automatic seven-month extension to file your tax return. You don't have to submit any form to get that extension. Your extension can go past seven months if you got a longer extension from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Even with an extension, you have to pay your tax by May 1.
I'm having problems with my e-Services password. What should I do?Back to top
If you can't log on to e-Services or have forgotten your account password, you can request a password reset. Go to the e-Services home page and click "Forgot your Password? Locked Out?"
If you're still having problems, call the Minnesota Department of Revenue at 651-282-5225 (TTY users call 711 for Minnesota Relay) to get a temporary password.
Is there a way to view my payment and return history in e-Services?Back to top
Yes. Log on to e-Services. Click on the tax type you would like to view. Click "View Payments" for your payment history, or "View Return" which will show your tax returns.
Why isn't the payment I made showing up on the e-Services payment list?Back to top
Once you make a payment it will take 24 hours to show in the e-Services payment list. If you made a payment using the e-Services system and:
- You didn't get a confirmation number:
Contact your bank to check whether your payment was withdrawn from your bank account. If it wasn't, resubmit your payment. If the payment was withdrawn, check your other taxes to see if it went to the wrong place. If that happened, call us at 218-744-7424 and give us your name, Minnesota tax ID number, the date you deposited your payment, and the amount.

How do I cancel a payment using the e-Services system?Back to top
Internet:
- Log in to e-Services using your username and password.
- Select "Cancel a Payment" on the Main Menu page. You must provide the confirmation number and payment date of the scheduled payment you wish to cancel.
Phone:
- Call 1-800-570-3359 from a touch-tone phone.
- Press "1" if calling from a touch-tone phone.
- Press "4" to cancel and schedule a payment for a business tax.
- Enter your seven-digit Minnesota tax ID number and password.
- Enter your confirmation number and date of the scheduled payment you wish to cancel.
You can cancel a payment up to the date that payment is to be withdrawn. Even though you have canceled the payment, the payment remains part of your payment history.
I entered the wrong amount or withdrawal date on my payment, how do I fix it?Back to top
You can only cancel a payment up to the date that payment is to be withdrawn.
By Internet or phone:
- if your payment is scheduled to be withdrawn after 5:30 pm today, you can cancel the payment up to 5:30 pm the day the payment is scheduled to be withdrawn.
- if your payment is scheduled for the following day, you can cancel the payment up to 5:30 pm of the day the payment is scheduled to be withdrawn.
