  • How do I get the required assessment experience?Back to top

    ​There are a few different ways to get the required assessment experience. 

    • Work in a county or city assessor's office
    • Have a Minnesota Department of Commerce appraiser license
    • Work under a licensed assessor's license

    Every person employed by an assessor to assist in making exemption classification, or valuation decisions must become licensed at the level required for that position within three years from the date of employment.
