  • If I am unable to access e-Services, can I mail in a paper return?Back to top

    No. Withholding Tax does not accept paper returns.  For e-Services help, contact a customer service representative.  ​

  • Is there a penalty if I do not file electronically?Back to top

    Yes. If you do not file your return electronically by the due date, a late-filing penalty of 5 percent of the unpaid tax may be assessed. 

    You may also receive a Commissioner Filed Return (CFR). A CFR is based on your previous filing history plus inflation. Even if you receive a CFR, you are still required to file your return.    

  • What is the website I can access to file electronically?Back to top

  • If I file by phone, is it considered electronic?Back to top

    Yes.  For more information, see I need to file by telephone.​

  • Do I have to file my return and pay at the same time?Back to top

    No. You can file your return and pay at a different time.​

  • How will I know when my return has been received?Back to top

    You will receive a confirmation number upon submitting your return. For detailed information, access your withholding account in e-Services, go to the Activity Center tab, and "View Requests."​

  • Can I see a history for what I filed electronically?Back to top

    Yes. Access your withholding account in e-Services and go to the History tab.​
